I do not enjoy doing ice break activities in college. I’m not really comfortable talking about myself to random strangers. Today, my professor made the class break up into groups of 4 and we had to introduce ourselves and say something unique or special about ourselves. I told my group my name and that I’m a drummer. Instantly, they all jumped out of their seats and said “OH MY GOD! THAT IS AWESOME! I’VE NEVER HEARD ANYONE PLAY THE DRUMS BEFORE!” and kept asking me questions. Mind you, it’s 9:30 in the morning and I’m still half asleep and I’m pretty annoyed. I had to go on and on about myself for the whole time and I never got anyone’s names or contact information.
It’s like the people of DVC have never met drummers before. It’s like we’re a rare species of humans or something.
